Thief Gestas on cross is a hand-carved wooden Passion figure from Original Heide, a family workshop in Val Gardena, Italy, known for detailed nativity and religious carvings.

This figure represents Gestas, the thief crucified alongside Jesus, depicted on a wooden cross with arms outstretched and bound. Created by Original Heide, a family woodcarving workshop in Val Gardena, South Tyrol, Italy, the figure is hand-carved from maple and lime wood and hand-painted with lifelike detail. The figure is posed on a wire armature and draped in hardened fabric, consistent with the studio's traditional construction methods.

Original Heide is renowned for its heirloom-quality religious figures, including nativity and Passion subjects, crafted with careful attention to anatomy and expression. This piece fits within their Passion figure category, offering collectors a finely crafted devotional figure suitable for indoor display. Sizes offered range from 12 to 20 cm, aligning with the studio's scale.

Navidad Nativities, a respected US retailer with museum and institutional credentials, imports and selects each figure, ensuring authenticity and quality. This wooden Passion figure combines traditional craftsmanship with devotional artistry, making it a valued addition to religious collections.
