This figure represents a lying sheep from Original Heide, a family workshop in Val Gardena known for hand-carving nativity figures in wood with lifelike detail and hand-painted finishes.

The Sheep lying figure is a finely hand-carved wooden animal from Original Heide, a family woodcarving workshop in Val Gardena, South Tyrol, Italy. Crafted from mountain maple, this figure captures the naturalistic gesture of a resting sheep with textured carving and delicate hand-painted details. The figure is posed on a wire armature and draped in hardened fabric, consistent with Original Heide's traditional craftsmanship.

This sheep pairs well with Original Heide's Immanuel, Rustika, and Hannah collections, complementing various nativity sets with its realistic and expressive form. Available in sizes ranging from 12 to 20 cm, it is designed as an indoor collectible nativity animal figure. Each piece is hand-signed by the artisans, reflecting the heritage and skill of this renowned studio.
