The Herdsman Sitting is a hand-carved wooden shepherd figure from Original Heide’s Traditional Nativity Sets & Figures collection. It features detailed hand-painting and is draped in hardened fabrics.

This figure represents a seated herdsman, a traditional shepherd character in nativity scenes, crafted by Original Heide, a family woodcarving workshop in Val Gardena, South Tyrol, Italy. The figure is hand-carved from maple and lime wood, posed on a wire armature to allow naturalistic positioning. It is dressed in carefully hardened fabric garments that add texture and realism to the piece.

The herdsman wears a brown striped tunic with a textured outer cloak and a head covering, holding a wooden staff. The figure is hand-painted with fine detail, including facial features and hair, capturing a lifelike expression. Offered in multiple sizes ranging from 10 cm to 55 cm, this artisan nativity figure is designed for indoor nativity displays and collectible nativity sets. Navidad Nativities selects and ships each figure, ensuring authentic craftsmanship and quality.
