The Herdsman with Dove is a hand-carved wooden nativity figure from Original Heide, a family workshop in Val Gardena, Italy. It features carved wood posed on wire armatures and draped in hardened fabrics.

This nativity figure represents a herdsman holding a cage with a dove, embodying the shepherds' role in the nativity scene. Crafted by Original Heide, a renowned family woodcarving workshop in Val Gardena, South Tyrol, Italy, the figure is hand-carved from maple and lime wood. The workshop is known for its traditional techniques, carving figures posed on wire armatures and dressing them in hardened fabrics for a lifelike appearance.

The figure is hand-painted with fine detail, highlighting the expressive face and textured clothing. It is available in a range of sizes from 10 cm to 55 cm, suitable for various nativity set scales. This piece is part of the Traditional Nativity Sets & Figures collection, offered by Navidad Nativities, a trusted retailer known for curating authentic artisan nativity figures.
