This figure depicts a camel lying down with a sleeping footman, part of the Heide Immanuel collection by Original Heide. It features hand-carved wood and fabric drapery, characteristic of this Italian workshop.

The Camel Lying with Sleeping Footman is a finely crafted nativity figure from Original Heide's Heide Immanuel collection, a family workshop in Val Gardena, South Tyrol, Italy. The figure is hand-carved from wood, posed on a wire armature, and draped in hardened fabrics that add texture and realism. The camel is depicted resting with detailed features, while the footman leans against it, asleep, holding a woven basket.

This piece exemplifies Original Heide's traditional craftsmanship, combining maple and lime wood carving with hand-painted finishes. The figure is suitable for indoor nativity scenes and complements other animals and characters in large and small nativity sets. Navidad Nativities carefully selects and imports these figures, known for their heirloom quality and authentic Italian artistry.
