The Marolin Manger

This one-of-a-kind nativity scene showcases figures created by The Studio Marolin using a special paper mache mixture of kaolin, chalk, paper fibers, organic paste, and clay. Each figure is individually poured in molds that were buried for over 40 years to protect them during wartime. The figures are finished, painted, and antiqued by master artists, resulting in a timeless, classic appearance.

The setting includes a solid wood architectural Half Dome from Authentic Models, adapted to embrace the Holy Family with graceful arches. The backdrop is a hand-painted solid wood panel depicting a glowing Renaissance dusk sky in soft peach, cream, and blue tones. Hand-spun hemp trees and copper wire grapevines add intricate natural details. The overall size is approximately 20 inches high by 21 inches wide by 11 inches deep. A piece of rock from the hills of Umbria near Assisi is included as a tribute to St. Francis, creator of the first nativity in 1223. This indoor nativity scene is suitable for display with optional fairy or rice lights and fresh greens.

Produced and selected by the Navidad Nativities Atelier in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, this collectible nativity scene reflects expert craftsmanship and a rich heritage of nativity art.
