The Herdsman with dove is a hand-carved wooden figure from Original Heide, a family workshop in Val Gardena known for its detailed nativity figures. This figure features carved wood with hand-painted details and fabric clothing.

This hand-carved wooden figure represents a herdsman holding a cage with a white dove, dressed in traditional shepherd's attire. Crafted by Original Heide, a family woodcarving workshop in Val Gardena, South Tyrol, Italy, the figure is carved from maple and lime wood. It is posed on a wire armature and draped in hardened fabrics, reflecting the studio's signature construction method.

The herdsman wears a striped outer robe over a burgundy tunic with a grey sash, and a grey head covering. The figure stands barefoot and holds a wooden staff in one hand. The cage with the dove adds a distinctive detail, enhancing the nativity scene's storytelling. Available in sizes ranging from 12 to 20 cm, this artisan nativity figure is ideal for indoor nativity displays and collectible wooden nativity sets.

Selected and shipped by Navidad Nativities, this figure carries the tradition of Italian nativity craftsmanship with authentic hand-carved and hand-painted artistry.
