This hand-carved wooden Shepherd with Sheep on Shoulders figure is part of the Pema Kostner collection by Pema Woodcarvings, crafted in Val Gardena, Italy. It features fine hand-painting and traditional shepherd attire.

The Shepherd with Sheep on Shoulders is a finely detailed nativity figure from the Pema Kostner line by Pema Woodcarvings, a renowned Italian studio known for hand-carved wooden nativity figures. This figure depicts a young shepherd carrying a sheep across his shoulders, symbolizing care and protection. The figure is hand-carved from wood and expertly hand-painted to bring out naturalistic facial features and textured clothing.

Standing approximately 9.5 cm tall, this shepherd wears traditional rustic attire with a hat, a tunic with a textured wool effect, and a small pouch hanging from his shoulder. The sheep is carved with delicate detail, showing its woolly coat and gentle expression. This figure is suitable for indoor nativity scenes and complements other figures in the Pema Kostner collection, known for their quality craftsmanship and authentic Italian heritage. Navidad Nativities carefully selects and ships each piece, ensuring collectors receive heirloom-quality nativity figures.
