The Herdsman lying figure from Original Heide represents a resting shepherd, crafted in the traditional Val Gardena style with hand-carved wood and draped hardened fabrics.

This figure depicts a herdsman reclining, embodying a peaceful moment in the nativity scene. It is part of the Original Heide workshop's handcrafted collection from Val Gardena, South Tyrol, Italy, known for their skilled woodcarving in maple and lime wood. The figure is posed on a wire armature, allowing naturalistic positioning and is dressed in carefully hardened fabrics that add texture and realism.

The hand-painted wooden figure features detailed facial expressions and traditional shepherd attire in muted earth tones, including a turban and layered robes. Offered in sizes ranging from 12 to 20 cm, this artisan nativity figure complements traditional nativity sets and is ideal for indoor display. Navidad Nativities selects and imports these heirloom-quality pieces, recognized for their craftsmanship and cultural heritage.
