Christmas 2023 marked the grand reopening of the Glencairn Museum in Bryn Athyn, PA after 18 months of major infrastructure enhancements. We have been delighted to be a part of the Glencairn extended family annually since 2015, including having one of our designs that is part of the Glencairn permanent collection join the traveling A Glencairn Christmas/Christmas in the Castle exhibit at the Blessed Michael J. McGivney Pilgrimage Center and home of the Knights of Columbus in New Haven, CT in 2022.

To mark this year’s grand reopening of Glencairn, Navidad Nativities created the Grand Cartapesta Presepe, a 100 square foot First Century Village featuring 182 vintage 12” Italian Cartapesta (paper mache) Nativity figures from A.J.’s personal collection made in the Tuscan village of Bagni di Lucca. The figures, that date to the 1940’s-60’s from the companies Fontanini, Euromarchi and Viviani, wrap the base of a soaring 10’ Christmas Tree decorated with vintage ornaments. It became the centerpiece for this year’s World Nativities Exhibition.

On Saturday November 25, 2023, A.J. was the guest presenter at the Museum’s Members opening event. A subsequent article was published in early December in the Glencairn News. Click the link below to read the article in Glencairn News and to view the full members presentation.
